Hypnotherapy Training Course. Run by an experienced, accredited teacher and assessor who has been a successful hypnotherapist since the 1990s.

The venue is in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, easily accessible from Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Oxfordshire, and Worcestershire.

The next course starts in October 2025 and runs one weekend a month over ten months. I prefer not to offer rolling entry, so that the level of mastery you obtain is high and progresses steadily throughout the year.

Your investment is £2,675, and entry to the course is by informal interview.

To reserve a place, a 20% deposit is payable. Afterwards, you may pay upfront, in two tranches, or discuss monthly payment terms with me.

Your outcome includes the internal Diploma in Clinical and Advanced hypnother (Dip CAH) and Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD), as well as specialist certifications. You will also receive the externally accredited HPD, recognised by the government body known as the Complementary And Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), because you will be doing a face-to-face, in-person training course.

This course is run by Hilary Norris-Evans, and I’ve been delivering it since 2005 in conjunction with the UK Academy.

The Principal and VP were instrumental in setting up the HPD, which is now considered the gold standard in the hypnotherapy field. It is an external accreditation administered through the National council For Hypnotherapy (NCH) for NCFE/Cache and recognised by the CNHC.

The UK Academy also offers you their internal Dip CAH (Diploma in Clinical Advanced Hypnotherapy).

You may also attend an optional, supplementary weekend at the end of the course, which prepares you for specialist certifications and offers additional support in completing the HPD.

The course is highly practical and includes a lot of discussion, hands-on exercises, pair work practice, and demonstrations of hypnotherapy.

I cover many aspects of hypnotherapy, not just one single method, and I work with small groups. We also cover Neuro Linguistic Programing (NLP), which fits in well with hypnosis, given all its different interventions, and was first modelled on Milton H. Erickson. We study Ericksonian Hypnotherapy too, which forms the basis for SFT (Solution-Focused Therapy).

I focus on hypnotherapy and NLP, rather than adding in other disciplines, which you could study in a separate, full course. Your 120 hours are devoted to a deep dive into hypnotherapy and the therapeutic relationship.

If, for example, you wish to study Mindfulness—which is a different discipline, utilising the conscious mind rather than the unconscious—you could consider my CPD course for practising hypnotherapists, psychotherapists, and counsellors as a useful add-on.

You should consider EFT and EMDR as separate disciplines in their own right, and a useful adjunct to hypnotherapy. Coaching is another option to consider separately.

Our curriculum is available for you to view when you contact us.

My background is in teaching, so you will learn efficiently and effectively how to become a hypnotherapist of excellence. If you wish to proceed further, you may join our sister school to become a hypno-psychotherapist. Ask me more about that when we chat during a discovery call.

I believe I am a knowledgeable and experienced hypnotherapist and teacher, enthusiastic and passionate about both hypnotherapy and teaching the next generation. I offer extensive supplementary and parallel notes to the official documentation, share genuine experiences of hypnosis, and provide many book and research recommendations to support you throughout your training. I also work in a highly flexible way, tailoring each course to that year’s intake.

I’ve presented nationally and internationally, written and run many courses for qualified and experienced hypnotherapists, served on the board of the NCH, and assessed for other schools of hypnotherapy.

As is the official practice at the UK Academy, I still run a successful clinic.
