    What is hypnotherapy?
    Hypnotherapy is a non physical therapy which uses hypnosis alongside counselling and analysis techniques in a practical way to relieve psychological and psychosomatic problems as quickly as possible.

    How Is It Different from Counselling ?
    Whilst you will talk to the hypnotherapist to describe your problem and then to talk about progress made, much of the work will be done in hypnosis. Thus you can use your subconscious mind or right side of your brain (some people call it their intuition) to help you remain calm even when tackling distressing problems. You will also learn about specific relaxation techniques , including self hypnosis and use cds to help you continue resolving your problem in between sessions. Thus, you will eventually gain control for yourself of your problem, rather than relying on a therapist to help you.

    How many sessions will I need?
    This varies from individual to individual; some simple problems such as nail biting may only require 2 sessions, stopping smoking may require a one stop session, whilst other problems such as anxiety ,depression , panic attacks or phobias require a minimum of 4. This is a rough guide only and you will discuss with the hypnotherapist the number of treatments needed at the first session. .

    What is hypnosis?
    A perfectly natural form of relaxation that you did a lot as a child. If you’ve ever driven along a familiar road and not remembered all the journey you’ve been in a light hypnotic trance. When you daydream or just before you got to sleep you’re in a hypnotic state. You are not asleep, not unconscious and not in a coma. It is a state of deep relaxation with heightened awareness.


    Is it anything like stage hypnotism?
    No.You remember everything and you cannot be made to do anything against your will. In fact you would be shocked out of the hypnotic state if such a thing were suggested.

    What is hypnohealing?
    A form of healing, putting the mind to help healing in the body, similar to the positive mind training techniques used at The Bristol Cancer Centre .

    How much does it cost?
    An initial FREE consultation of 15 minutes is available for you to see if your problem would be appropriately treated with hypnotherapy. Afterwards, each session, lasting around 50 minutes costs £60.
    The one stop smoking package is £150 for a double session.


    Cancellation Charges
    To cover administration costs, appointments not cancelled 48 hours beforehand or no shows may be charged a fee of £30.
